2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity

We are sending you this email to inform you of a summer undergraduate research opportunity for the undergraduate students (not graduate students) who participate in your NSF Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship project. This opportunity will help your students understand how learners learn and gain educational research experience before your students start to teach in K-12 schools.  Non-Noyce undergraduates are also eligible to apply.  The Department of Engineering Education at Utah State University will hold a ten-week summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program    The central theme of the REU program is “Problem Solving in Engineering Education.” The program will be conducted in two phases:   Phase 1 – Pre REU Site Program (May 15 – 26, 2023) ; and   Phase 2 -REU Site Program (May 30 – July 21, 2023) . Engineering Pathways GCoE Undergraduate Research Fellowship applications open for Spring 2023

To support access to undergraduate research for students who may be bypassing these opportunities for outside employment, funding is available through the Tomorrow’s Engineers fund from Dolese for approximately 12-15 undergraduate research fellowships for Spring 2023. The two different fellowship opportunities are: Engineering Research Entry Apprenticeships for students new to research. Maximum budget $3,000 with minimum $2,000 for student stipend. Engineering Research Fellowships for students with one semester of research experience with the faculty member already. Maximum budget $3,000 with minimum $2,500 in student stipend.   Applications are to be completed collaboratively by a student working with their current or potential research mentor.
