Modern Tools and Technologies for Food & Agriculture Production

The summer REEU program is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to participate in research, extension and outreach projects that focus on innovative tools and modern technologies for agricultural and food production. Students will also get opportunities for professional skills development in communication, leadership, ethics, team work and organization.

 

Student Background:

Students majoring in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply : Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Agricultural, Biological), Computer Science, Data Science, Agronomy, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Food Science.

 

Financial Support

  • Stipend: $3000 total for the program period
  • Housing: $1000 total housing allowance or free on-campus housing (for external participants)
  • Meals: $500 total for the program period
  • Travel : $500 total (for external participants)

 

Eligibility

  • Sophomore or Junior in 4-year STEM degree
  • Cumulative GPA > 3.0
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

  Undergraduate Research Day applications are due   Wednesday March 6 th   2024.   CALL FOR PROPOSALS   UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH DAY will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.,   at the Thurman White Forum Building, 1704 Asp Avenue, University of Oklahoma.     What is URD?   • Undergraduate Research Day is an annual event for undergraduate students to present their research and creative works in a formal conference setting. OU Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (UReCA) Summer Fellowship

Building off a successful summer of 2023, I am pleased to announce the Provost’s Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (UReCA) Summer Fellowship for Summer 2024.   The Summer UReCA Fellowship is intended to provide support to enable students to perform undergraduate research or creative activity over a ten-week period during the summer. The UReCA Summer Fellowships are open to all students in any discipline supervised by an OU faculty mentor. The research or creative activity performed over the summer should result in a thesis, journal article, presentation, show, or performance that contributes to the creation and dissemination of knowledge and creative works.     The Summer UReCA Fellowship provides a $5,000 stipend for the student and $1,000 to the faculty mentor to help support the student’s research and creative activity.
