Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) OPEN TO ALL OU UNDERGRADUATES

We are pleased to announce the Fall 2023 competition for UROP, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, which seeks to foster excellence in undergraduate research, scholarly projects, or creative activity. UROP is funded by the Honors College and Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships. The competition, open to all OU undergraduate students, will support selected projects undertaken under the sponsorship of individual faculty members.  UROP is administered by the Honors College, but we emphasize that the awards competition is not restricted to Honors College members and is open to all OU undergraduates. There will be approximately 20-35 scholarships awarded during the Fall competition, each with a maximum budget of $1,000. The deadline for receipt for proposals is Friday, September 22nd at 5PM for projects currently being undertaken this Fall 2023. 12-week REU at Clemson University - includes a $7,000 stipend

12-week REU at Clemson University – Students will study the effectiveness of virtual- and augmented-reality for enhancing collaboration. The program takes place on Clemson’s campus and includes a $7,000 stipend. The lead investigator is Dr. Madathil a faculty member in the School of Industrial Engineering.  Clemson is hosting a National Science Foundation (NSF) supported Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program this summer, focused on investigating the efficacy of virtual and augmented reality-based environments for supporting collaborative work. This NSF-supported program offers a unique opportunity for STEM undergrads to participate in a research project, with all activities conducted on Clemson campus. Good news! UCF’s jointly-funded NSF-DoD REU site has been renewed for 2023-2025! Our application portal just opened, and we are looking for students for Summer 2023. NSF-DoD REU Site: Advanced Technologies for Hypersonic, Propulsive, Energetic, and Reusable Platforms (HYPER) at the University of Central Florida (UCF)   HYPER addresses challenges in aerospace travel and energy production, advancing the fundamental knowledge needed to overcome technical barriers limiting hypersonic flight. The 10-week program will be held this summer from May 21 st   – July 29 th , 2023.
